Professional packing service
Packing is the part that takes three evenings and still is not finished. We bring everything and do the lot — or just the kitchen and the breakables, if that is the bit you dread.
When we come
For a full packing service we usually come the day before. On smaller moves we can pack the same morning.
Packing the day before means moving day starts at the front door instead of in the back of a cupboard.
If you would rather pack yourself
You are welcome to pack yourself — but anything you pack is excluded from our insurance, so use strong boxes, plenty of paper and fill every gap. Label every box with the room it is going to rather than what is inside it — the crew is reading room names, not inventories.
Washing machines, dishwashers and cookers must be disconnected before we arrive. We cannot connect or disconnect appliances, plumbing or electrics — that needs a qualified trade. Fridges and freezers need defrosting, and should not be switched on for 24 hours after delivery.
Keep documents, jewellery and anything irreplaceable with you rather than in the van.
Materials
Boxes, paper, bubble wrap, tape and wardrobe cartons come with the service. We can also drop materials to you in advance if you are packing yourself.

Questions people ask
How do I get a price?
For anything large or awkward we will do a survey, in person or over video. For everything else, photos or a short video of the rooms are enough. Photos tell us the volume, the access and anything unusual. That is what makes a quote accurate instead of a number we have to revise on the day.
Do you charge by the hour?
Almost every job we quote is a fixed price. Hourly only makes sense on the rare job where nobody can say what is coming — a clearance, or a load still being sorted. We will tell you if yours is one of them.
Are you insured?
£25,000 goods in transit and £5 million public liability, and the goods cover can be increased on request. Ask and we will email you the certificate.
Who sorts the parking?
Parking is yours to arrange, at both ends. Legal, usable space next to the door is the single biggest cause of a move running late, so we raise it when we quote rather than on the morning.
How much notice do you need?
One to two weeks for a small move, three to four weeks for a whole house. Ring if it is sooner — we keep room for short notice.
