What moving in Putney is actually like
The riverside mansion blocks are handsome and awkward in equal measure — generous flats, tight stairwells, and lifts that were designed before anybody owned a corner sofa. Up the hill towards the Heath it is substantial family houses.
Parking and access
Lower Richmond Road and the roads off it are narrow and busy. Most of the mansion blocks want a loading bay booked and proof of insurance before the day. Putney High Street itself is not somewhere to park a Luton on spec.
Parking is yours to arrange, at both ends. Legal, usable space next to the door is the single biggest cause of a move running late, so we raise it when we quote rather than on the morning.
Why being close matters
A lot of the work here is man-and-van rather than whole houses — it is the sharer turnover. If you are moving one room rather than a whole flat, say so and we will price it as the smaller job it is.
