What moving in Tooting is actually like
Tooting is mostly Victorian and Edwardian terraces — long, narrow, with a staircase that turns at the top and a front door that opens straight onto the street. There are also the mansion blocks around Tooting Bec Common and a growing number of converted flats above the shops on Mitcham Road and Upper Tooting Road.
Parking and access
The streets off Garratt Lane and Mitcham Road are tight and almost all of them are controlled parking. A Luton will fit, but not always outside your door. We will tell you when a bay suspension from Wandsworth Council is worth the money and when it is not.
Parking is yours to arrange, at both ends. Legal, usable space next to the door is the single biggest cause of a move running late, so we raise it when we quote rather than on the morning.
